Two Days Walking Down to Feynan

The same descent as our day walk at half the speed, with an afternoon of doing nothing at the bottom. We leave Dana village mid-morning, drop through Wadi Dana with a donkey carrying the bags, and reach Feynan Ecolodge in time to sit on the roof while the light goes orange along the Wadi Araba escarpment. Dinner is the lodge's vegetarian buffet, eaten by candlelight. On day two we walk out at six to the copper mines and Byzantine ruins at Khirbat Faynan, drink tea with an Azazma family whose goats you will already have met on the trail, and take the 4x4 back up to Qadisiyah by early afternoon. Read this before booking. The ecolodge runs on solar: no plug sockets in the rooms, candles after dark, so charge everything in Dana. There is no meat on the menu and no alcohol sold or permitted on site. Rooms are shared twins unless you pay the single supplement.
